Tungsten Crucible Product Description
According to dimension, tungsten crucibles could be divided into different group.
For small dimension crucibles like 20mm diameter, 50mm diameter, 80mm diameter, we will machine the crucibles from forged tungsten rod. This kind of tungsten crucible cup has higher density. It is widely used as thin film coating container.
For bigger dimension, in order to make it economic and easy to machine, we will sinter the crucible. And the lath the crucible to make it meets requirements. Sometimes when customer requires, we will sand blast the crucible surface.
For thin wall thickness crucible, we will make it by spinning suitable tungsten plate. Spinning will need special mould.
Also there is another kind of tungsten crucible--welding crucible. When it is necessary, we will welding the bending tungsten sheet into tungsten crucible.
1. Product Overview
A tungsten crucible is a high-purity container made from sintered tungsten metal, its exceptional melting point (3,422°C), corrosion resistance, and thermal conductivity and our tungsten crucible cup excels in vacuum or inert gas environments, making it indispensable for high-precision industries. Whether used as a tungsten crucible for coating in physical vapor deposition (PVD) systems or as a tungsten crucible container for molten metal handling, our tungsten crucibles guarantees reliability under stress.
2. Key Features & Advantages
Unrivaled Temperature Resistance: Withstand temperatures up to 2,800°C, far exceeding molybdenum or tantalum alternatives.
Superior Density & Purity: 99.95% minimum purity and 19.3 g/cm³ density minimize contamination risks.
Corrosion Resistance: Resists acidic/alkali attacks, ensuring longevity in harsh chemical processes.
Customizable Designs: Available in cylindrical, conical, and rectangular shapes; tailored dimensions upon request.
Low Thermal Expansion: Maintains structural integrity during rapid heating/cooling cycles.

4. Applications of Tungsten Crucibles
Our tungsten crucible is widely used in following applications:
Thin-Film Coating: tungsten crucible used as container for coating, it holds evaporation materials (e.g., gold, aluminum) in e-beam deposition systems.
Single Crystal Growth: Essential for sapphire, silicon carbide, and laser crystal production.
Vacuum Metallurgy: Melts refractory metals like titanium, platinum, and zirconium.
Semiconductor Manufacturing: Processes high-purity silicon and gallium arsenide.
Aerospace & Defense: Fabricates superalloys and composites under extreme conditions.
5. Why Choose Our Tungsten Crucible?
a. Advanced Manufacturing Process
Our tungsten crucible container is produced via precision powder metallurgy:
High-purity tungsten powder is isostatically pressed.
Sintered at 2,200–2,500°C to achieve highest density.
Machined using diamond tools for micrometer-level accuracy.
This ensures zero porosity, uniform grain structure, and resistance to thermal shock.
b. Performance Comparison
tungsten crucible Max Temp (°C) Corrosion Resistance Cost Efficiency
Tungsten crucibles 2,800 Excellent High
Molybdenum 1,900 Good Moderate
Graphite 3,000 Poor (oxidizes) Low
c. Quality Assurance
Every tungstenc crucibles are been inspected by our inspection department by measuring dimensions, surface inspection ect. to make sure our crucibles are 100% qualified. We also offer tungsten material chemical inspection.
6. Handling & Maintenance Guidelines
Gradually heat tungsten crucibles to 500°C before full operation to avoid thermal stress. Avoid molten salts (e.g., fluorides) that corrode tungsten. Use ultrasonic baths with ethanol; never abrasive chemicals.Keep crucibles in dry, inert environments to prevent oxidation.
7. FAQs
Q: What’s the maximum fill capacity for a tungsten crucible?
A: We recommend filling ≤80% to prevent overflow during thermal expansion.
Q: Can I use a tungsten crucible for coating in oxygen-rich environments?
A: No. Tungsten oxidizes above 500°C in air; operate under vacuum or argon.
Q: How do I choose between pure tungsten and W-La alloy?
A: W-La offers better creep resistance for cyclic heating applications.
Q: What’s the lead time for custom-sized crucibles?
A: 2–4 weeks, depending on complexity.

At first we will make sure that we got all customer's requirements clear. Then place order to production department and inspection department. Each production process will test themselves if everything is right. And before shipping, all products will pass the packing department only after inspection department inspected that the products meet customer's requirements. If not, the products will go back to production department for fixing or remaking.
For production, normally our lead time is 20-30 days. But according to different products and different quantity, it changes a little. If your order is emergency, contact with us, we will find a way out to solve your problem. For shipping, normally we ship by express and air. Express takes about 7-10 days, and air 3-5 days. And if customer requires by sea, we will ship by sea, it takes normally 40-50 days.
All our products are shipped after strict inspection and safety packing. Inspection by each production process makes sure the quality is good. And the inspection department will inspect again carefully to make sure everything is right. But if quality issue really occurs, we are sorry, and we will be responsible. To fix the products or remake them, we will make everything right.
In order to keep our healthy cooperation, our payment term normally is 50% payment in advance, balance paid before shipping. And if customer needs, we will calculate the shipping cost for your reference.
